Glossary

1. Culture: From the latin "Cultura". It's a set of shared values, goals and attitudes in a country 
2. Culture shock: When you find it difficult to adjust to a new culture or when you visit a country that is very different from your own, you can get a culture schok, because it is something that you are not jused to.
3.  Assimilation: Absorbing knowledge as an integrated of the already existing knowledge
4. Imperialism: The creation and maintenance of an unequal economic, cultural, and territorial relationship, usually between states and often in the form of an empire, based on domination and subordination.
5. Poverty: The lack of basic human needs, such as clean and fresh water, nutrition, health care, education, clothing and shelter, because of the inability to afford them.
6. Globalization: The tendency of businesses, technologies,  or philosophies to spread throughout the world, or the process of making this happen.
7. Third world: The economically underdeveloped countries particularly in the Middle East, South Asia, Latin America, Africa, and Oceania, considered as an entity with common characteristics, such as poverty, high birthrates, and economic dependence on the advanced countries.
8. Stereotypes: Stereotypes are standardized and simplified conceptions of groups based on some prior assumptions.
9. Ethnocentrism: A tendency to believe that one's ethnic or cultural group is centrally important, and that all other groups are measured in relation to one's own. The ethnocentric individual will judge other groups relative to his or her own particular ethnic group or culture, especially with concern to language, behavior, customs, and religion.
10. Personality: Who you are, your values and beliefs.
11. Identity: A person's conception and expression of their individuality or group affiliations (such as national identity and cultural identity)
12. Cultural identity: The identity of a group or culture, or of an individual as far as one is influenced by one's belonging to a group or culture.
13. Diversity: This word basically means differences, that something is not alike.
14. Multiculturalism: The appreciation, acceptance or promotion of multiple cultures
15. Migration:Physical movement of a group of people from one place to another.
