At first in this lesoon we have to present ourself and tell why we are participating at this course. For me it's because it's obligatory and a part of my study.
We talked about the differences between Globalization and internationalization and found theese points.
Globalization:
Is a process of integration and interaction among the people, companies, and governments of different nations. It's a process driven by international trade and investment and aided by information technology. This process has an effect on our enviornment, dulture, political systems, economical development and prosperity. It as well affect the human psydical well-being in societies around the world.
Internationalization:
Is wieved upon as a process on increasing involvement of enterprises in the national markets, allthough there is no agreed definition on internationalization or international entrepreneurship there are several internationalization theories which are trying to explain why there are international activities.
How to teach internationalization in the daily learning envoirenments:
- Participating in the planning of the internationalization at the institute
- Participate in in-service teacher training courses
- Participate in small international projects.
- Participate in various relevant conferences
- Create relevant workshops /projects
- Gathering relevant materials.
- Widen you own knowledge and understanding of interculturality.
We visited the sites espnet.eu and etwinnigs.com to find different various projects and materials we could use.
Use the questions what, why, where, who, how to start projects, think out of the box, don't be affraid to establish contacts.
How to make an international project with a schoolclass- Make or interact in an international commitee at you school (the management should somehow be represented)
- Focus in-service teacher training courses
- Focus in teachers abilities in ICT and language
- Focus on inspiration -- in-service and conferences
- Inform the parents about the project regularly
- Exhibit your work
Reflection:
By using different international projects in the classroom the pupils will acchieve knowledge about other countries, expand their volcabulary and in the best case establish friendships with children/youngsters from other countries in the world. They will ahve to be aware of how they write and present their assignments and products. It will as will give them a very well intercultural understanding and insight in other cultures.
